Birth / Death source: IGI Information also provided by Rita Delany (nee Mackenzie) Robert was in the Boy Service at the age of 14 years, he then served 32 years in the RAF, leaving as a flight Leautenant. He was sent to Singapore twice and escaped just after the Japenese captured the docks in Singapore town, in 1942 Robert was in the R.A.F. stationed at the Grange Gosport Hampshire England, not sure when.

Robert married Thirza Mary Hutchinson, daughter of Thomas Hutchinson and Emily Rose Hickton, on 24 Jul 1923 in England. (Thirza Mary Hutchinson was born on 5 Mar 1901 in Sherwood Forest Lodge, Nottingham England, died on 11 Sep 1996 in Rochester Kent England and was buried in Sep 1996 in Rochester Kent England.)
