Charles's Father, Thomas arrived in Victoria abt 1838 and went back for his young wife and family who then came out on the ship "Warrior" in 1847.

The funeral left Charles's late residance on Wednesday the 24th January at 12:40 for the Eastern Cemetery. )W.B.King and Son, Undertakers, Moorabool street.

Charles by his will dated 3rd August 1889 appoints his sons Charles and John to be executors of his will. He bequeaths to his wife Sarah, £1000, his horse, buggy and household furniture absolutely, also his house and 63 acres of land ajoining during her lifetime. To his son Charles Carter Simmons, £1000 less £125. His daughter, Anne £1000 less £130. His daughter, Eliza, £1000 less £15. to Robert Carter Simmons Lubeck, Farmer £500. His Daughter Zipporah £300 and a farm at Mount Duneed. His Daughter Emily Ross £900. His granddaughter, Minni Loone £100. His Graddaughter Martha Ada Amelia Ross £500. His Son Thomas £100. The residue is to be divided between his children Charles Carter, Emily, Eliza, Zipporah and Anne in equal shares. By Codicil dated 22nd Aug 1889 he devises the residue of his estate to his wife Sarah, and his children, Robert Carter,Charles, Zipporah, Thomas, Eliza Harbor, Emily Ross, Anne Kilpatrick, John and William. By a second codicil bearing the same date he revokes the bequest of £100 to his son Thomas. Value of real estate £1000, Personal, £13250 - Total £14,250.

Age 80 years 6 months at the time of his death...
